Abstract
Number of broadband subscribers at the end of Q3 2003
reached 88.216 million. xDSL and Cable broadband are
leading the world market by 55.8 million and 29.4
million respectively. By the end of 2003 those numbers
would rise to 61.70 and 30.87 respectively
Sales for Internet
and broadband increased across all markets while fixed
voice sales generally dropped.
New business models to increase
the number of broadband subscribers such as triple
Play by offering voice, video and high speed data
services has been adopting by American and European
operators. Few operator are making available cheap
broadband “pays as you go” subscription
package.
The xDSL subscriber calculation,
stratifying subscribers as flat rate and non should
be adopted.
